Bold Colors

My Answer to the Eunuch Movement

One of the marks of old paths Christianity throughout history is the bold stand that we take for Christ. The Apostle Paul boldly proclaimed his stand with the Gospel in Romans 1:16 when he said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…” There was no mistake where Paul stood on the Gospel. In fact, he followed up by saying in Romans 10:11, “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

One thing that has hurt the old paths, independent Baptists is the lack of people who make a bold stand for truth. I believe our colors should be bold, and nobody should ever mistake where we stand on Scriptural principles. God made the principle clear in the Old Testament when He told the tribes of Israel to pitch their tents “by his own standard.” (Numbers 1:52) Their standard was to be lifted high so that nobody mistook them for some other tribe.

Throughout my ministry, I have always made my positions clear on where I stood. I have not made my positions clear because I feel that I am someone special, I have done this so that there is no mistake by those who look from a distance of my Scriptural position. Let me make this clear, what I believe is not based on any personality; rather, it is based on Scripture. I don’t believe in the “I am of Paul” and “I am of Apollos” mentality. This is nothing more than personality worship, and God makes it clear that carnal Christians are personality based. (1 Corinthians 3:4) When you stand by bold colors, you will often be identified with others who have made bold color stands, and you will be criticized. The reason you make a bold color stand is not to be controversial or contentious for the sake of being different, but you make bold stands so that others will never mistake your positional stance.

Sadly, there are times when you make a bold color stand that you will find yourself on the opposite side of friends. It is in these times that you will have to choose between personality and principle. When the King James Bible was attacked, I stood with the Word of God and found myself on the opposite side of friends. I stood in these times because we are commanded to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 1:3) When you stand for the faith, your stand will often seem as if you are standing against a personality, but this is only because people have made an unscriptural stance. Let me make this clear, our battle is not against personalities, but it is against the error that is perpetrated by personalities. When you stand for truth, your battle is no longer personal, but rather a defense of the faith. If no one stands for truth, the lies of error will be accepted as the truth. This is why we must make a stand when error is being perpetrated.

Those who stand for the faith are those who stand for bold colors. As is always the case, the Devil always has an alternative to the bold colors for which we stand. He offers pastel colors to make us believe that it is not that much different and to desensitize us to sin. Satan offered Eve a pastel color when he told her that she would become “as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:5) The Devil offered Moses many different pastel colors through Pharaoh in an attempt to keep God’s people in the world, but each time the pastel colors were rejected.

As boldly as you stand for the bold colors of truth, you will always find yourself having to restate your stance for bold colors when Satan offers pastel colors. As long as you make your stand for the bold colors of the faith, your colors will reveal the pastels of Satan, and also those who are holding them. Your battle doesn’t have to be against personality when you are boldly holding the truth of God’s Word, but it will reveal those who are pushing false doctrine.

For the past few weeks, many have contacted me about my stance on a pastel that is only a way for Satan to desensitize people towards the sodomite lifestyle. Let me make this clear; sodomy is still an abomination against God. Leviticus 20:13 makes this clear when it says, “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” God made it clear in Romans 1:26-27, that all who live the sodomite lifestyle have been given over unto “vile affections.” It is clear through the Scriptures that sodomy, no matter how you look at it, is an abomination against God.

Moreover, effeminate men are unrighteous men. 1 Corinthians 6:9 says, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,” There is no excuse for a man acting effeminate other than his heart is not right with the LORD. In fact, when you look at this verse, an effeminate man is one step away from being a sodomite.

There is a false belief being pushed that there are men who have a propensity towards men because they didn’t realize that they were eunuchs. Matthew 19:12 is the verse that is used to defend this false doctrine where it says, “For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.” What is interesting about this verse is that nowhere does it say these who were born eunuchs had a propensity to commit the abominable act of sodomy. Nowhere does this verse state that these eunuchs are effeminate. Why? Because both would be a sin against God.

What we must be careful about is using man’s definition to define God’s Word. What is a “eunuch” according to the Scriptures? The word “eunuch” or “eunuchs” is only mentioned twenty-seven times in the Scriptures. Throughout the Scriptures, a eunuch was a man who held a position for a king in the palace. Nowhere do the Scriptures teach that a eunuch is a man who didn’t understand that they were to be single their whole life. When you allow the Scriptures to define Scripture, you can easily understand what Matthew 19:12 is teaching. Let me break it down by using Scripture.

Jesus said that there “are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb.” This is not real hard to understand. There were men whose parents were servants to a king; so when they were born into that family, they had no choice but to be a servant in the palace of the king. By birth they were to serve the king.

Jesus continued to say, “…there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men…” Again, this is not difficult to understand. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego didn’t choose to become servants to Nebuchadnezzar, but they were taken captive and placed into this service “of men.”

Furthermore, Jesus said, “…there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.” In other words, there are some men who chose to be servants to the King of Kings who have decided not to marry so that they can give their whole attention to serving the LORD. These men don’t want to be hindered by a spouse, so they choose to be single the rest of their lives.

Nowhere in this verse does Jesus say that men who were eunuchs didn’t understand that they were a eunuch. In fact, they completely understood their position in life. To take Matthew 19:12 as a defense of those who have lived in the sodomite lifestyle and committed sodomy is totally preposterous and wrong. In no way does the Scriptures lend towards a eunuch being effeminate or having a propensity toward the same sex. In no way does the Scriptures make it sound as if men had a difficulty with their sexuality. If this were the case, the Scriptures would contradict themselves, which would make the Word of God false.

My friend, be careful about trying to find an excuse for the sodomite lifestyle. Romans 1:28 states in bold colors, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” Any person who twists Scripture to say that there are people who are eunuchs who don’t know it are only giving an excuse for sin, and this is wrong. It is false doctrine to say that men who like men don’t know that they are eunuchs. Don’t fall into Satan’s trap to desensitize you to this abominable lifestyle. There is no excuse for effeminate men or the sodomite lifestyle; it is a sin!
