“Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;”
People are always trying to find a way to get rich. Books are written by the hundreds that promise riches to those who follow their programs. Financial seminars are constantly advertised in hopes that people will come to listen to their sales pitch of how they can become rich. Casinos are filled and lottery tickets are purchased by the millions by people who hope to be the “lucky” person to strike it rich. Sadly, those who spend money on these things still find themselves in the same financial condition.
However, God promises riches that are guaranteed. These riches that God promises are not financial riches, but these riches are much better and more fulfilling than being monetarily rich. In the Book of Ephesians, God talks about three types of riches that He promises for the believer.
The riches of grace are the first type of riches that God promises the believer. The beginning of the riches of grace are discovered when a person accepts Christ as their Saviour; however, the discovery of God’s grace only gets richer as the believer realizes its presence when they go through tough times.
The riches of Christ are the second type of riches. The longer you serve Christ the greater He becomes. You will never discover the riches of Christ in this lifetime. In fact, the believer will have an eternity to continue to discover the riches we have in Christ.
The riches of Christ’s glory are the third type of riches. The glory of Christ is His righteousness. The believer will quickly learn that living a righteous life is one of the greatest ways to not have to live a life of regret. Let me share with you a few statements about the discovery of these riches.
First, you will never discover these riches without adversity. If you quit when times get hard, you will miss the discovery of riches that God has for you. Those who quit never realize the sweetness of God’s grace to help them in their time of need. Those who quit never experience the rewards of living right. Many people have missed out on the fruits of their efforts because they quit before those they invested in became the finished product that God intended for them to become. The rewards for doing right are discovered decades after you labored. Don’t quit before you see the fruits of your labor.
Second, you will never discover these riches without walking in God’s will for your life. God’s will is where the riches of the Christian walk is discovered. You will miss the riches of the Christian life when you choose to follow your will instead of God’s will for your life.
Third, you will never discover these riches without being a soul winner. Being a soul winner is where the greatest riches are found. You will not only see your rewards for soul winning on this Earth, but you will continue to see your rewards for the entirety of eternity as those you led to Christ will get to spend an eternity with you in Heaven.
Fourth, you will never discover these riches without being filled with His Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide you into these riches if you yield yourself to Him. Let me encourage you to stop walking in the flesh and yield to the Holy Spirit, because it is walking in the Spirit where these riches are discovered.
