Fake News

by: Dr. Allen Domelle

With the media trying to stay relevant, they have fabricated “fake news” as a big problem. Many of the news agencies and even the candidates who lost are trying to float the idea that the elections were swayed by made up news without even giving one ounce of evidence. In fact, they have totally ignored the stories that they fabricated to try to get their chosen candidate elected, but they failed.

Though I agree that there are outlets that produce fake news, the bigger problem of fake news abounds amongst the religious scammers who for fame and fortune continue to push this fake news. These scammers seem to be spreading the bad news instead of the good news of the Gospel. Sadly, these religious scammers have raked in millions to their monetary coffers only to deceive thousands of people.

The Scriptures warn of these scammers in Matthew 7:15 where it says, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” God didn’t spare in His description of these people. In God’s viewpoint, these people are more than scammers; they are false prophets and grievous wolves. So, what is this fake news?

1. Fake news is that only a select few get saved.

There are grievous wolves who preach that only the chosen will get saved. Yes, these wolves know how to fabricate persuasive philosophies that seem to cause question, but their message is false, and they are wolves. God says several times throughout the Scriptures that anyone who calls on Him may be saved. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” God didn’t say that only the chosen who call on him shall be saved, but whosoever.” Salvation is not for a select few, but for anyone who calls on Jesus Christ. John 3:15-16 says, “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Luke 19:10 didn’t say that Jesus came to seek and to save the chosen, but it says that He came to “seek and to save that which was lost.” Watch out for the fake news of the grievous wolves who preach, teach and write that only a chosen few are elected to get saved.

2. Fake news is that we all serve the same God.

There are many false prophets who claim that we serve the same God, which is absolutely false. Mohammed, Buddha, Joseph Smith, the Pope, and all other religious leader are all liars. The god they serve doesn’t admit that Jesus is the Son of God, but that He is either a good teacher, prophet, or that He became the Son of God. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Whoever the “Word” is was with God in the beginning. In other words, the “Word” didn’t have a beginning or become God, but the Word has always been “God.” In fact, John 10:30 makes it clear that Jesus Christ is God when Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.” Even the scribe in Matthew 12:32 admitted there is only one God when he said, “…Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:” If there is one God, that means that every other god is a false god. So who is this one God? 1 Timothy 2:5 shows us when it says, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” The fake news that we must expose is that there are not many gods, but there is one God, and that one God is Jesus Christ.

3. Fake news is that we are all going to Heaven, but just doing it in different ways.

There are grievous wolves who say that everybody is going to Heaven, but we are just doing it in different ways. Again, the fake news must be exposed because Jesus said in John 14:6, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” If Jesus Christ is God, and if He says He is the only way, then every other way is a false way. Be careful about entertaining the fake news that there are many ways to Heaven because the Scriptures teach there is only one way, and that way is through Jesus Christ.

4. Fake news is that we have to do something or be good to be born again.

There are many grievous wolves who have packaged works into salvation with an attempt to keep people from straying from giving to their ministries. Ephesians 2:8-9 debunks this fake news when it says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” If there were something we had to do to get saved, we would take the credit for our salvation. You don’t get saved by throwing works into salvation. Either Jesus Christ had to die to pay for sins, or you have to work to pay for them. If works can save you from Hell, Jesus Christ didn’t need to die to pay for sin. Only the grievous wolves who want you to stay dependent on their false gospel would spread such fake news.

5. Fake news is that you can lose your salvation.

Jesus said in John 10:28, “And I give unto them eternal life…” Romans 6:23 shows that once you are saved you are always saved when it says, “…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” My friend, your salvation is either kept by works or by grace. When God saved you, He didn’t give you conditional life, but He gave you eternal life. Either God meant that His gift “is eternal life,” or He is a liar. Anyone who says that you have to do something yourself to get saved or to stay saved is a grievous wolf who is speaking fake news.

I’m all for fighting fake news. Let me give you the real news from the Scriptures. The real news is that we are all sinners. Romans 3:10 says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” As good as we try to be, we still fall short of being righteous or sinless. The reason is because we have sinned. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” It doesn’t matter how many times we have broken God’s laws because one offense of the law makes us a sinner.

Sinners must pay for their sin. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…” The only way anyone can pay for their sin is that they must die. If you die without your sins being paid for, the only place you will spend eternity is in an eternal Hell that has a literal fire. Revelation 21:8 shows us what type of people end up in Hell. It says, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Even if you tell one lie, you will have to spend your eternity in this Hell which “burneth with fire and brimstone.”

The good news is that God provided a way through Jesus Christ for your sins to be paid for. Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus didn’t pay for some sins, but He paid for all of your sins. That is why “…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Jesus can offer you salvation as a gift because He paid for your sins. Nothing else and no one else can offer you this gift because they didn’t pay for your sin; Jesus did.

This is great and real news! You may wonder how a person like you can receive the free gift of salvation. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The real news is that if you will realize that you are a sinner, and that only the payment of Jesus Christ paid for your sin, and if you will ask Jesus Christ to save you, you can be saved.

If you would like to ask Jesus Christ to save you, make this your prayer to Him right now. Just say to Him, “Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know because I have sinned, I deserve Hell; but I don’t want to go there. So, right now Jesus, I accept your payment on the cross, and the blood that you shed to be the payment for my sins. Come into my heart and save me, and take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for saving me, Jesus. Amen!”

My friend, if you just accepted Christ as your Saviour, would you please contact us to let us know about it. If you have already been saved, please share this article with as many people as you can so they can hear the real news instead of the fake news.
