“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
It was troubled times for the Jews. The wicked Haman coerced the king to make a law to slaughter the Jews on a certain day. Unbeknownst to the king, queen Esther was a Jew. Esther’s ethnicity had somehow not become known to the king. However, what was not known to the king was known to God, for God had placed her in her position for such a time as this. It was Esther’s uncle Mordecai that had to remind Esther that God had given her the position she obtained for such a time as this. Esther realized the importance of God’s providential hand in her life and risked her life to save the Jews. Esther responding properly to such a time as this is what saved the lives of the Jews which essentially kept God’s plan for salvation possible for the whole world. Several lessons need to be realized about such a time as this.
First, there are no mistakes in such a time as this. Everything that has happened in your life is no mistake with God. God knows exactly why he allows you to face whatever you are facing. Your sickness, trial, battle, or tragedy that has happened in your life has not happened by mistake, but it has happened for such a time as this.
Second, you were not placed on this Earth at the wrong time. You may feel that you are living out of your time, but God knew exactly what He was doing to put you on this Earth with the world in its dreadful situation. You can complain about what is happening in your life or in society, or you can embrace the fact that God providentially placed you on this Earth at this time with your situation for such a time as this.
Third, God allows everything to happen in your life for such a time as this. Yes, what you face today is for such a time as this. Too many believers look at the calamities of their life as hurtful, but they don’t understand that God gave them their calamities for such a time as this. Such a time as this is given to you so you can be a help to others. Your such a time is wasted time if you don’t use it to help others.
Fourth, such a time is never too hard of a time for God to do something great. It may have seemed impossible for Esther to do anything, but there is nothing too hard for the LORD. You must realize that such a time as what you face is never too hard for the LORD to take and to turn such a time into an opportunity for the LORD’s power to be revealed through you. Whatever such a time is that you face today is not too hard for God to take and to turn it into the greatest blessing of your life.
Fifth, what you do with such a time as this is what God can do with you in such a time as this. What are you going to do with your situation? You can use it as a complaint and an excuse that you can’t do anything, or you can take it and determine that God has allowed you to come into this situation for such a time as this. What you do with whatever you face today will determine what God can do with you in such a time as this. Let me encourage you not to waste the opportunity for God to do something through you. Such a time as this is your opportunity for God to do the miraculous through your life. What are you going to do with your opportunity?
