He Has Just Begun
Deuteronomy 3:24
“O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?”
Moses made an amazing statement when he said that the LORD had just “begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand.” This is the same Moses who had seen God send the ten plagues on Egypt. This is the same Moses who saw God part the Red Sea. This is the same Moses who experienced God give manna from Heaven for forty years. This is the same Moses who watched God give water from a rock two separate times. This is the same Moses who spent forty days and nights on the top of mount Sinai receiving the commandments from the mouth of God. This is the same Moses who came down from the mount and had the glow of God on his face. This Moses saw God do many miraculous works, yet he says that God had just begun to show his greatness and mighty hand.
This is an amazing statement by a man who many use as a motivation to see God work through their own lives. Moses did not make this statement as a young man who had only heard about the works of God, but he made this statement as an old man who had seen and personally experienced the great works of God in his own life and ministry. Yet, he said that God had just begun, and he wanted God to continue to allow him to see His great works through his life.
It doesn’t matter what you have seen God do through your life; God has never depleted all of His power. As great of a work that God has done in the past, He still has just begun to show His great works. Though God saved three thousand people on the Day of Pentecost, He has just begun to show His might and power. Though God has built great works through men like Dr. Lee Roberson, and Dr. Jack Hyles, God has only begun to show what He can do.
My friend, it takes vision to realize that God can still do more today. You may have seen God do some mighty works through your church and ministry, but He has just begun if you have the vision to see what else God can do. The only thing that is keeping God from doing more through your ministry is your lack of vision to see His omnipotence to do more.
Moreover, it takes faith to realize that God has just begun. We know what God has done in the past because we have read about His great works, and we have experienced them ourselves. However, your vision for God to do much more than what you have already seen will be determined by the amount of faith you have to believe that He has only begun.
Furthermore, it takes desire for God to do more in your life. God has only begun to do great works through your life and ministry IF you have the desire for Him to do more. Are you satisfied with what God has already done? Do you have the desire to see God do more? Faith and desire will give you the vision to realize that God has only begun and that He can do much greater works through you.
Finally, it takes drive to see God continue His works through your life. My friend, a desire and hunger for God to do more through your life will give you the drive to continue until He does those greater works. Never lose your drive. Always remember that no matter what God has already done through you, He has only begun.
