2 Corinthians 13:14
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”
Life is not easy, and staying encouraged through life’s onslaught against your spirit is something you will have to work at daily. The verse above shows that one of the ways you stay encouraged is to remind yourself of God’s grace and ask for His grace to help you in difficult times. There are many times in my life, and nearly on a daily basis, that I ask God to give me His grace to help my spirit in difficult times. God’s grace can help you to stay encouraged.
Another way to be encouraged is to remember that God loves you. It doesn’t matter what you do or what others think about you; God always loves you. The greatest encouragement that will encourage you in any situation is the fact that God loves you. God’s love for you never wavers because of what you do, but His love for you is constant because He chooses to love you. This will encourage you all the time.
The one way I want to point out to you to stay encouraged is to commune with the Holy Ghost. As the apostle closes out this book, he says, “…and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.” So, how do we commune with the Holy Ghost so that we can stay encouraged?
First, share your thoughts with the Holy Ghost. The word “communion” means to share or exchange intimate thoughts. You always have someone to talk to, even when you are alone, and that person is the Holy Ghost. When you have thoughts that you need to talk to someone about, the first person to talk to is the Holy Ghost. You should share your thoughts of heartache, for He is the Comforter. You should share your need for wisdom, for He is the One who guides you into all truth. You can find encouragement in life if you learn to talk to the Holy Ghost about your thoughts regularly.
Second, ask the Holy Ghost for help when you lack in life. The Holy Ghost is the gift of God to the believer, and John 4:10 says that you are to ask Him when you have needs. The next time you need something, you would be wise to ask the Holy Ghost what to do or how to get what you need. You will find that the Holy Ghost can help you to find whatever you need in life.
Third, ask the Holy Ghost for guidance. Do you find yourself not knowing what is the next step you should take? Romans 8:14 says that the Holy Ghost will lead you. You can find the answer for the next step you should take if you will simply ask the Holy Ghost to lead you.
Fourth, ask the Holy Ghost to guide you as you pray. According to Ephesians 2:18, it is through Christ and the Holy Ghost that we have access to the Father for our prayers. Before you pray, always ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and help you as you pray. The greatest helper to help you to pray as you should is the Holy Ghost.
Fifth, make the Holy Ghost your best friend. Philippians 2:1 talks about fellowshipping with the Spirit. My friend, you always have someone to talk to at any time of the day, and that someone is the Holy Ghost. Let the Holy Ghost be your best friend who is is the first person you want to talk to when you want to tell someone about your day. These actions are the actions you need to take to encourage yourself.
