All the Way

Deuteronomy 8:1-2

All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers. And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Almost is never good enough for God because God is an all-the-way God. Notice that God wanted Israel to remember all the way that the LORD led them. God didn’t want them to remember some of the commandments, but all of them. God didn't want them to observe some of what God told them to do, but all that He told them to do. God didn't want them to “almost” multiply, but He wanted them to multiply. God didn't want them to go in and possess some of the land, but He wanted them to possess all of the land. When Israel followed God all the way is when they found His blessings and power to deliver and possess.

Too many believers wonder why they never see God bless what they do and much of it has to do that they are not doing all that God tells them to do. You cannot pick and choose what you want to obey and expect to get the product of following God ALL the way. God expects you to do ALL that He commands you to do because anything less is disobedience. All the way means requires several things if you are going to see God’s blessings on your life.

First, God expects you to obey all that He tells you to do. Some obedience is disobedience. I can go to church once a week and still disobey God’s command not to forsake the assembling every time the church comes together. You can walk with God in the Scriptures and prayer a few times a week and still be disobedient in walking with Him every day. You can do everything but one thing that God commands you to do to be saved, and you will still go to Hell if you don’t put your complete trust in Christ alone to get saved. Obeying God is going all the way and doing everything that He tells you to do.

Second, God expects His church to multiply. Adding to the church is the beginning of what God wants us to do, but He expects His church to multiply. You can add to what you are doing, but God expects you to multiply what you do for Him.

Third, God expects you to possess all that He wants you to do. In other words, He expects you to walk and live by faith. A life that does not walk by faith is a life that is disobedient to God’s command. You can walk by faith in one area and walk by sight in another area, and you will find yourself not obeying God’s command to walk or live by faith.

The secret to pleasing God is three words: all the way. You will never be what God wants you to be in any area until you go all the way for God. Those whom God used greatly in the past are those who went all the way for God. Abraham went all the way and left his homeland to become a nation. Moses went all the way and forsook the goods and pleasures of Egypt to follow God’s will for his life. David went all the way against Goliath, and that is why he defeated him. The early church went all the way for God, which is why they turned their world upside down. When you go all the way for God is when God chooses to go all the way in blessing you by doing the miraculous through your life. Be an all-the-way Christian, and you will see God do the miraculous through your life.
