1 Chronicles 24:19
These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.
One of David’s secret to success was his ability to organize. The latter part of 1 Chronicles shows David’s organization when it says, These were the orderings…. David organized the service in the LORD’s house so everyone was involved, which lessened the pressure so that one didn't have to do everything. David knew organization was the best way to save energy because more people could be involved.
You will always find that the most successful people are highly organized. Talent can only take you so far, but talent will never realize its potential without organization. Organization makes the untalented look talented. Organization takes the weaker and makes them stronger. Organization is paramount to you reaching your greatest potential.
Church work does not have to overwhelm you. The more you are organized, the more people who are carrying the load of the Lord’s work. When a church is poorly organized, you will find few people carrying the load of the whole church. However, when a church is highly organized, many people carry the load, making it easier for all to serve the Lord. Let me share a few benefits of organization that should motivate you to get organized.
First, organization makes the pressure of the ministry lighter. One person does not have to carry the whole load of the ministry. Certainly, we should cast our burdens on the Lord, but the Lord will help you carry the pressure of the ministry better if you will spread the load to everyone through organization. A thriving ministry has a lot of pressure, but a thriving ministry can spread the load which lessens the pressure on each person.
Second, organization allows you to do more with less. The more you are organized, the more you will be able to do. Organization allows more people to be involved, and the more people who are involved means you will be able to do more for God. If one person does everything, the church will only go as far as that one person’s ability. However, if a church is organized, more people are involved which raises the ceiling of the potential of that church because more people means you can do more. Organization allows the church to do more with the little it has.
Third, organization allows everyone to find a place to serve. Organization allows people to have a purpose to serve the Lord because they have something that depends on them to do when given a task. Organization will break down the ministry to individual jobs allowing the pastor to spread the task to every person, which gives them a purpose to be faithful. You would be surprised how many more people will be faithful if you organized the church and gave each person a responsibility to do.
My friend, you will always accomplish more through organization. The more you organize, the more energy you are involving in the ministry, but the corporate energy of all involved allows the individual to save energy so they don't have to exhaust themselves doing everything. Get organized; it is the best way we can do the most for God.
