Job 5:8-9
I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause: Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
Job knew the place to get his cause in life settled. Many have different causes that come into their lives. Job’s cause was the tragedy he faced. David’s cause was the giant. In both cases, their cause seemed hopeless, and they were hopeless in their own power. However, both knew who to go to get their cause resolved; the answer to their cause was God. David showed the answer to his cause was the LORD in 1 Samuel 17:37 when he said, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. Job made it clear that God was the answer to his cause when he said, I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause.
The resolution to your cause is always God. Jeremiah 33:3 says, Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. God is always ready to answer your cause. No cause is hopeless when you take your eyes off yourself by committing it to God in prayer who is able to do the impossible. In Job’s answer to committing his cause to God and in Jeremiah 33:3, we see several things about God’s ability to resolve the impossible cause.
First, God is capable of doing great things. What you are doing may seem to be great, but God is capable of doing the great and mighty things. Look at all the great works of the past, and you will discover that God is capable of doing great things for average people. You don't serve an average God, you serve a great God who will do great things for you if you call on Him and ask Him to do those things.
Second, God is capable of doing marvelous things. The word marvellous is talking about extraordinary things. God has done many extraordinary things in my life that I know He can do in yours. A few years ago, I had an appointment with my eye doctor, and in the diagnosis he showed me that my right eye had macular degeneration, a degenerative condition that only gets worse with no way to treat it. This affected my ability to read, and reading is critical to being able to study God’s Word. Surgery was not an option; the only option was God. I committed my situation to God asking for a miracle. I remember one day noticing that the squiggle that the macular degeneration was causing in my eyesight was gone. I continued to pray until the next eye appointment which was a year later. When the doctor checked my eye, he came back with an astonishing look on his face and told me, “I don't know how to tell you this, but your eye has been healed.” Oh, I knew the answer and I told him the answer as to why it was healed; the answer was God healed my eye.
The same God that did the marvelous miracle by healing my eye can do marvelous works in your life and ministry if you will call on Him. God says He is able to do the unsearchable. He says that He can do great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Your cause may seem impossible, but God majors on the impossible. He still has the power to do the great, the marvelous, and the mighty works today that He has done in the past; it simply comes down to whether we have the faith to trust Him to do them. Let me challenge you to give your cause to God, and by faith step out, and you will see that God is the answer to your impossible cause.
