Trust the Process

Jeremiah 33:2-3

Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

We hear much about the process. When talking about the process, they are referring to the systematic steps and actions needed to achieve the desired result. A sports team often talks about the process that is needed for them to get to a championship. A business talks about the process it takes for them to become a successful business. This process is critical to the success of what is being done. Those who are doing the process must trust the process and continue to do it so they can get their desired result.

Every believer enjoys quoting Jeremiah 33:3, but we leave out verse 2 which is critical to the result of verse 3. Verse 2 is the process, and verse 3 is the result. We love to say that if we call on God that He will show us great and mighty things, but we never talk about what happens between the calling unto God and the great and mighty things. Let me share the process between the calling and the great and mighty things.

First, there must be an acknowledgment of the LORD. The LORD is Jehovah God, which is the all-powerful God. I will never get to the great and mighty things without realizing I serve a God capable of doing great and mighty things. I serve a God whose power and resources are never stretched to their limit. God always has more He can do, which is why we must call on Him to do great and mighty things.

Second, God must put the ingredients in that are necessary for the great and mighty things to happen. The Scriptures calls the LORD the maker. On the way to great and mighty things, God must put the ingredients in your life that are necessary to produce the great and mighty things. This is where Romans 8:28 is critical to our lives. God promised that all things work together if we love God and do what He calls us to do. You must trust that every ingredient God puts into your life, whether pleasant or unpleasant, is part of His process to doing great and mighty things through your life.

Third, God must form you before He does the great and mighty things. To form something means that He must put pressure on your life to make the great and mighty things to happen. God teaches in Job 23:10, when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. The forming God puts on our lives produces great pressure, but it is part of the process that God must do to perform great and mighty things through our lives.

Fourth, God must establish you before He can do the great and mighty things. Part of the process is continuing until the great and mighty things happen. Too many miss the great and mighty things God promises because they quit during the process to get to the great and mighty things. You must never quit, but you must establish your life in God’s ways for great and mighty things to happen.

My friend, God dares you to call on Him and ask Him to do great and mighty things in your life, but don't forget there is a process that must happen before the great and mighty things happen. Trust the process to the great and mighty things. That process is what God knows must happen before you are ready for Him to do the great and mighty things in your life.
