Situation-Changing God

Psalm 109:4
“For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.”

When David saw the response of the enemy, he knew the only thing that could change his circumstance was prayer. What made his situation worse was that the enemy attacked him for the love he showed to them, but he never stopped praying for God to deal with the situation. David completely understood that God is a situation-changing God.

Believer, when things go awry, the only thing that can change your circumstance is prayer. Too many people focus on the bad of the situation and talk to people who can’t do a thing for them, instead of going to God in prayer to ask for His intervention. Many become bitter because of the adverse circumstances, but David made it clear that giving yourself to prayer is the only answer that can truly change your situation.

When David said, “I give myself…,” he was saying that he invested all of his energy into praying instead of responding. You can invest your energy into fruitless actions, or you can invest your energy into the one thing that can change your situation, and that thing is prayer. You must realize that whatever your enemy in life is, prayer is the only action that can change it. My friend, God is a situation-changing God who chooses to change your situations when you pray. Every minute you try to change your situation without prayer is a wasteful minute that could have been invested in prayer. You can talk to friends and loved ones about your situation to no avail, or you can go to the situation-changing God in prayer and ask for His power to change the situation.

What is your enemy that needs to be changed? Is your enemy bad health? It is only when you give yourself to prayer that God chooses to intervene in your health. There is nothing wrong with going to doctors for help, but you must realize that only God can give them the wisdom to discover what is wrong with your health.

Are marital issues the enemy you face? You can try to work out your marital problems, but the answer to your marriage will only be found in a situation-changing God. God can work on the heart of a spouse who is not doing right, and that is what you need for your situation to change. You can argue with your spouse to no avail, or you can go to the situation-changing God by giving yourself to prayer.

Are bad finances the enemy that seems to be attacking you right now? You can borrow money and try to work out your situation, but only God can turn a bad money situation around. If you will give yourself to prayer so that the situation-changing God can intervene, you may find that He will supply your need if you will just pray.

What is your enemy? What enemy comes to your mind right now. The answer to turning the enemy’s attack around is God. You can try to work out your situation, or you can give yourself to prayer and let the situation-changing God go to work on your behalf. The answer to your situation is truly more in your hands than you realize. You can complain and gripe about what you are facing, or you can give yourself to prayer and ask the situation-changing God to intervene and change it. You are one prayer away from seeing things begin to change in your life. Let me encourage you to go to the situation-changing God in prayer and get His help to change your situation.
