“For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”
Tears are a part of life that you cannot avoid. It doesn’t matter your financial status, who you know, how popular you are, or what connections you have, tears will come to every person. Sadly, many turn to vices to deal with tears only to make their tears worse. Others turn to self-infliction to deal with their sorrows, which never take the cause of the tears away and makes your problems worse. Some consider suicide as a way to get away from the cause of tears, but that is a selfish decision that leaves those you love wondering what they did wrong.
The answer for tears is always God. You can focus on the tears, and if you do that you will find yourself coming up with the wrong solution to deal with tears. However, God is the answer to the tears, and He promises that “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” This promise to wipe away tears carries several messages to the believer that can help them during the time that they must endure the source of the tears.
First, God sees your tears. For God to be able to wipe away all tears means that He sees the tears. You are not going through your problems alone. You have a God Who not only sees your tears, but He is also with you while you have tears in your eyes.
Second, God understands your tears. Only one person will truly understand your tears, and that one person is God. My friend, you can try to explain to humans why you are sorrowful, but humans cannot understand that heart. Humans can only empathize with your tears, but God understands them.
Third, only God can help your tears. You can try all the resources of man to deal with your tears, but at the end of the day, God is the only one Who can help them. Many people try to drown their tears with alcohol, drugs, and vices that take their mind off the cause of the tears, but to try to drown your tears in these things will only add to the tears. Don’t make the mistake of adding to your tears by trying to drown them out, but get the help from God Who can help you through the source of your tears.
Fourth, only God can wipe away tears. Some tears are wiped away now, but one day all tears are wiped away. The phrase, “all tears” insinuates that God doesn’t take away some sorrow from life. Some sorrows will be taken to the grave, and you must be okay with God allowing you to carry your sorrow to the grave. God does wipe away tears from your eyes and replaces those tears with joy, but there are some tears that you must carry to the grave. You will find that God’s grace is sufficient to help you with the tears you must carry to the grave.
Fifth, God shall one day wipe away all tears. My friend, I don’t know when that day will come, but I know that God promised to wipe all tears away. If the only thing you have to hold onto while the tears flow through your eyes is that one day God shall wipe away all tears, that hope is great enough to help you through your every trial. Whatever you are facing today may have caused tears to flow from your eyes, but God is your help if you will confide in Him.
