“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
The three biggest words in this verse that can help you in your life are, “In the beginning…” One of the greatest mistakes that many believers make is they never learn how to allow beginnings to become a part of their daily life. Let me share with you some thoughts about beginnings that can help you to live a more productive and victorious Christian life.
Beginnings are important to a fresh start. In other words, you will never be able to enjoy life if you continue to drag the past into the present. Relationships are destroyed because people don’t allow the past to end. If you want your marriage to be a joyous one, you are going to have to allow your past to be the past. You cannot drag the past into the today and think that the past won’t hamper the joy your marriage could have. The greatest relationships are the ones who allow each day to be a new beginning. The family who leaves yesterday’s failures in yesterday can enjoy the beginning of a fresh day. A marriage that starts each day fresh as if there was no past is the marriage that can enjoy and face the challenges of today.
Moreover, every fallen believer needs to start fresh. One of the mistakes that many believers make is that they never let go of the guilt of their sin, and that results in living a defeated life. The greatest thing God does for the believer is He forgives them, which allows them to have a new beginning. If the LORD can forgive you for what you have done, you must learn to forgive others, and even forgive yourself when it comes to sin. My friend, you must allow the fallen to have a fresh start once they have faced their sin. Likewise, you must allow yourself to have a fresh start by forgiving yourself. You can’t change yesterday, but you can begin today afresh and allow the opportunities that God has for you to guide you to towards victory over sin. The believer who never forgives themselves for what they have done in the past will never enjoy the fresh start of a new beginning.
Furthermore, a beginning creates new opportunities each day. When God created the world, He had a blank sheet from which to accomplish great things. One of the greatest ways to see things accomplished is to have a beginning every day. When I wake up every morning, I look at the day as a beginning to conquer the challenges of that day. If you will learn to let each day be a beginning, you will find yourself having a purpose to live. If you make each day a beginning, you will find an excitement that dragging the past into each day has taken away.
Finally, learn to let each day be its own entity to build upon the next. Every day is a new beginning. The opportunities of each day are truly building blocks that build a great life if you allow each day to be its own entity. Great lives are a compilation of great days laid upon each other. The more you allow yourself to face each day fresh is what allows you the opportunity to live a greater life for the LORD and do more with the life you have.
My friend, are you making the mistake of living in the past? Do you allow your past to drag you down each day? You can enjoy life to its fullest if you will learn the importance of making each day a beginning. You can’t change your failures of yesterday, so stop trying to undo those failures and make today the first day of the rest of your life. You can enjoy life and accomplish more in life if you choose to let each day be a beginning.
