Revelation 14:6 “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,”
The most powerful force that this world has ever seen is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are many powerful things we have seen and what they can do, but nothing can do to a person what the Gospel can do. It is the power of the Gospel that can transform a life that was headed for destruction, and take that life and make them a great tool to reach others. It was the power of the Gospel that changed a hateful and murderous Paul into a person who gave his life reaching the lost with the Gospel. It was the power of the Gospel that changed and unprofitable Onesimus to a profitable person to those who had cast him away. It was the power of the Gospel that changed a thieving Zacchaeus into an honest person who repaid all of those from whom he stole. It was the power of the Gospel that transformed a cursing fisherman like Peter into a wholesome preacher who preached on the day of Pentecost. Only Heaven will reveal the power of the Gospel and what it has done to change the lives of millions.
However, the power of the Gospel is wasted if there is no person to preach it to the lost. The purpose of the Gospel is not to sit idle in the pages of God’s Word, but its purpose is to be preached to the billions of the world to give them one chance to be transformed into a child of God. To whom then are we to preach the Gospel to?
First, you are to preach the Gospel to “them that dwell on the earth.” My friend, there is no wrong person you can give the Gospel to because the Gospel is to be preached to the whole earth. If you want to obey the Scriptures, all you have to do is give the Gospel to the first person you see because they dwell upon the earth. A young preacher may ask, “Where am I to go to pastor a church?” The answer is to go anywhere. There is no wrong place to preach the Gospel because the purpose of the Gospel is to be given to anyone who dwells on the earth.
Second, you are to preach the Gospel “to every nation.” There must never be a nation that has never heard the Gospel. Certainly, the Gospel has been given to every nation throughout history, but there are generations of people today who live in the nations where the Gospel once was preached who have never heard the Gospel, and it is the believer’s responsibility to get the Gospel to them.
Third, you are to preach the Gospel to every “tongue.” No matter what language or dialect a person speaks, they need to hear the Gospel. If you speak more than one language, God gave you the ability to speak that language so that you can be a witness to those who speak that language that have never heard one presentation of the Gospel.
Fourth, you are to preach to every “people.” Inside of each nation are different people groups, and those people groups need to hear at least one presentation of the Gospel so that they can have the opportunity to have their lives transformed by the Gospel.
My friend, stop worrying about who you should bring the Gospel to and bring it to every person you see. Every person you see has the opportunity to have their lives transformed by the power of the Gospel if you will simply give them a chance to hear it so that they can accept it.
