“And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.”
Doing the LORD’s will for your life can sometimes seem to be a daunting task. The reason it is intimidating is because it takes faith to fulfill God’s will. You will never do God’s will if you have to live by sight. God’s will always asks you to do something you feel you are not capable of, but He always provides a way for it to be done through you.
Moses felt inadequate to be the leader of Israel for several reasons. One of the reasons he felt incapable of doing God’s will was because he could not speak clearly; however, with every excuse Moses gave, God had the answer for that excuse. God told Moses that He would give him Aaron as his mouthpiece to speak. The verse above is what God told Moses to do for Aaron, but this verse shows several things God does for the person whom He calls.
First, God will speak to you. The verse above says, “And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth…” Every person who has ever surrendered to God’s will finds out that He never leaves them without a message. God always speaks to them individually so they can speak of Him publicly. When you surrender to the will of God, you will find that He always has a message He gives you so that you can help those you are given to help.
Second, God will empower you by speaking for you if you surrender to His will. God says in the verse above, “…and I will be with thy mouth…” God not only gives you the message to speak, but He also gives you the power to speak the message properly. My friend, what you think you cannot do, God can do through you if you will just obey His will. You may think that you are not smart enough, but God didn’t call you because of your intelligence; He called you because He needed a tool to speak through. All you are doing when you surrender to God’s will is you are telling God that you are willing to be His mouthpiece. There have been so many times throughout my ministry when I preached a sermon and afterward someone came and thanked me for something I said. The problem was that I didn’t say what they said I said. What happened was the Holy Spirit took my words and spoke the exact words that they needed to their heart. Just be surrendered to God’s will and He will speak through you the words which need to be spoken.
Third, God will teach you what to do when you don’t know how to do it. The verse above continues to say, “…and will teach you what ye shall do.” Many people have said to me, “Bro. Domelle, I don’t know how to do it.” You don’t have to know how you can do God’s will because He knows how and will teach you how to do His will. Stop relying on your wisdom and intelligence and realize that God will teach you what to do at the moment you need to know what to do.
The key to all of this is that you must be surrendered to God. These three things God will do for you only if you are surrendered to Him. Let me ask you, what are you waiting on? God never calls you to do something without providing the wherewithal to do it. It all comes down to whether you are going to trust God by faith to obey His will for your life. My friend, don’t doubt God! God has never left His servants without the wherewithal to do His will, and He won’t fail you now if you will surrender and do His will for your life.
