“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
One of the greatest questions put forth in the Scriptures is found in the verse above when Mordecai asked Esther, “…and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” The Jews were about to be annihilated because of Haman and his deceptive manner in convincing Ahasuerus to make a law to have the Jews killed. Mordecai told Esther that she needed to use her position with the king to do something about this law. Esther was afraid, but Mordecai reminded her that she would never know if God had given her this great position to save her people unless she stepped out by faith to see what God could do with her.
We live in wicked times. I try not to define the times through my own country’s situation because God’s perception is a world perception. However, I do live in my country, and I see the times in which we live are wicked. One thing that I have always realized is that God could have placed me on this Earth at any other time, but He purposely chose to put me on this Earth at this time. I will never know that purpose until I do what I can to see what God can do through me.
My friend, who knows why God put you on this Earth at this present time? I do know this; we will never know what God can do with you until you trust God. You may see yourself as unable to make any impact on this world, but we will never know until you trust that God knew what He was doing to put you on this Earth for such a time as this. God could have easily allowed you to live other times, but He chose to place you on this Earth at this time. God doesn’t need an Elijah, Elisha, or another great preacher from the past for today, but He needs you to trust Him as Elijah trusted Him in his day. If God needed the great men from the past to do today’s work, He would have allowed them to live in our day; however, they don’t live in our day, but you do. Therefore, you must trust that God knew what He was doing to allow you to live in such a time as this.
Moreover, we will never know what God can do with you until you step out by faith. It has always been those who trusted God and stepped out by faith that moved God to use them for such a time as theirs. You will never know what God can do through you until you step out by faith.
Furthermore, we will never know whether you are the one God will use for such a time as this to do a great work until you step out. Sitting and saying it is impossible for God to do anything through you to change your day because it is too hard will never allow God the opportunity to do a great work for such a time as this. God says in 2 Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” God is still looking for someone to show Himself strong in our day. God is still looking for a church to show Himself strong in our day. You will never know if you are the one, or if your church is the one that God will choose to bless until you step out and attempt something great for God. Stop settling for mediocrity, and step out and attempt to do something great for God. You will never know if you are the one whom God will use to do something great until you step out.
